Trent Lott Collection

A Republican, Trent Lott served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1973 to 1989, attaining the office of minority whip (1981-1989). Lott represented Mississippi in the U.S. Senate between 1989 and 2007, where he held the office of party whip (1995-1996 and 2007), majority leader (1996-2001), minority leader (2001-2003), and chair of the Committee on Rules and Administration (2003-2006). This digital collection represents only a fraction of a much larger physical collection which is not yet open to researchers. Due to copyright limits, only a limited number of recordings in this collection are available online.
